01 — VISION, MISSION AND VALUES
A NEW WINESKIN FOR A NEW GENERATION
What if we dared to reimagine with God what “church” could look like? God is inviting us to rediscover the ancient way of Acts 2 and give it fresh expression for a new generation.

02 — Way of Life
Gather. Grow. Go.
Gather in His Presence
Come together in His Presence, minister to Jesus and be filled with His Spirit.
Grow in His character
Deepen in faith and character, being formed in Christlikeness.
Go in His power
Multiply, by bringing people to Christ in our community, together.
We are a spiritual family, burning for Jesus. Every week we gather in homes—around tables, in living rooms, in the middle of real life—to eat, worship, pray, host God's presence, and open the Scriptures together. This is Acts 2 come to life. This is not just a meeting. This is where family is forged, disciples are formed and fire is fanned into flame. We don't only gather — we go. Together, we step into our community through practical outreaches, so that the goodness of Jesus is not just spoken about, but demonstrated to the community we are a part of.
"They devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer. Everyone was filled with awe at the many wonders and signs performed by the apostles... And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved."ACTS 2:42–47

Frequently Asked
Before you come, a few things.
What happens at a gathering?
We eat together, worship, pray, open the Scriptures, and break bread. It is unhurried, relational, and centred on Jesus — more like a family around a table than a service in rows.
Do I need to be a Christian to come?
Not at all. Whether you are curious, searching, or have been walking with Jesus for years, you are welcome. Come as you are and expect to encounter Jesus — there is no dress code and no expectation.
Where do you meet?
Gatherings: We currently gather in Noordhoek, Cape Town
Prayer. We also do prayer walks in various locations
Feel free to contact us and we can have you join our WhatsApp group and send you the current details. hello@jesuspeople.africa, +1 917 306 9183
What should I bring?
Just yourself. If there is a shared meal we will let you know ahead of time, but there is never pressure to contribute. Come hungry for God and ready to be family.
What about my children?
Children are part of the family, not an afterthought. They gather with us — the noise, the wonder, the questions all belong. There is space for them to encounter Jesus alongside the adults.
How do I get connected?
The easiest way is to message us on WhatsApp or email. We will welcome you in, answer any questions, and help you find your feet in the family.
Are you a church?
YES! We are a fresh expression of church based off an ancient Way — the Acts 2 church.
What does Jesus People believe?
We believe that there is only one true God who is the eternal King, Creator, and Redeemer of all that is. He is perfectly holy, just, loving, and truthful. He has revealed Himself to be eternally self-existent – one being in three persons: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit.
We believe that the Bible is the inspired and only infallible and authoritative Word of God.
We believe that humankind was created in the image of God to know and enjoy Him, yet we willfully rejected the Lordship and glory of God for which we were intended. Because of this, sickness, death, and judgment entered the world and now creation experiences the effects and consequences of sin.
We believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, the one and only Son of God, was conceived of the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Mary, and is God's Anointed One, empowered by the Holy Spirit to inaugurate God's kingdom on earth. He was crucified for our sins, died, was buried, resurrected, and ascended into heaven, and is now alive today in the presence of God the Father and in His people. He is "true God" and "true man."
We believe that we are saved by God's grace, through faith in the person and work of Jesus Christ. Anyone can be restored to union with God through repenting, believing, and receiving Jesus as their Savior and Lord. The Holy Spirit convicts, regenerates, justifies, sanctifies, and adopts us as we enter the kingdom of God as His sons and daughters.
We believe in the ongoing, sanctifying power of the Holy Spirit by whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a holy life and minister super-naturally. The baptism of the Holy Spirit, according to Acts 1:4-8 and 2:4, is poured out on believers that they might have God's power to be His witnesses.
We believe in the victorious, redemptive work of Christ on the cross provides freedom from the power of the enemy – sin, lies, sickness, and torment.
We believe that the Church consists of all who put their faith in Jesus Christ. He gave His Church the ordinances of baptism and communion. The Church exists to carry on the ministry of Jesus Christ and further advance His kingdom by undoing the works of the enemy, preaching and living the good news of God's love, and discipling the nations – baptizing and teaching them to love and obey God.
We believe in the ever-increasing government of God and in the Blessed Hope, which is the glorious, visible return of the Lord Jesus Christ to rule and reign with His overcoming bride – the Church.
We believe that heaven and hell are real places. There will be a resurrection of the lost and the saved, the one to everlasting death and the other to everlasting life.
How is Jesus People different to typical church?
We are an Apostolic Family! The early church in Acts 2 wasn't defined by buildings or programs—it was marked by radical devotion to Jesus and to one another. They were devoted to the apostles' teaching, to fellowship, to the breaking of bread, and to prayer. Awe and the presence of God were tangible among them. They held nothing back—sharing their possessions, their homes, and their lives, meeting daily in temple courts and in homes, eating together with glad and sincere hearts. Signs and wonders were normal, not rare. And as a result, they had favor with everyone around them, and the Lord added to their number daily. This is the Way we're seeking to live out. Jesus People is church reimagined as an apostolic family. Everyone who walks in isn't a spectator—they're an important part of the body of Christ, with something real to contribute. It's not transactional church; it's deeply rooted in family. We are a new expression, seeking to live out an ancient Way—the Acts 2 church, alive again in our day.
Who are the pastors?
Jeremy and Bridget Hilliard lead Jesus People. They are ordained pastors through Bethel church in Redding, CA USA. They have spent 17 years in ministry and also founded and direct a non-profit-organization called Hope Africa Collective.
